From the invisible to the visible world and back

Molecular nanotechnology is a technology based on the ability to build structures to complex, atomic specifications by means of mechanosynthesis, the desire of the molecular nanotechnology would be to balance molecular reactions in positionally-controlled locations.
But what is the mechanosynthesis? Today I would like to talk about it, and the diamond mechanosynthesis (DMS) and diamondoid.
The mechanosynthesis is defined as the chemical synthesis in wich uses mechanical constraints for the determination of chemical outcomes. Diamond mechanosynthesis (DMS) is the most known type of mechanosynthesis. It is also called molecular positional fabrication, is the synthesizing of diamonds for removing the hydrogen atoms and transferring carbon atoms into the diamond nucleus. In other words, using precisely applied mechanical forces to build diamondoid.


The diamondoid shares some structures and properties of the diamond. It is a strong material, but also light-weight. In the future, they will eventually be able to build strong and lighter-weight such as cars and planes.

Scientists are still working on producing diamondoid, but they are big expectations about it! It also could be used as indicators of natural oil cracking. Additionally, the material has mechanical properties similar to carbon nanotubes.
For the mechanosynthesis, great technological advancement could appear and new natural components could be found. But, there are risks too, like how would diamondoid react to human secretion.
However, he truth is that I just learned about this today and I don't everything clear, but is such an interesting topic that I think, we should look forward! It would probably be a really important material for the future of chemistry, geochemistry, and engineering.
Well, I chose an interesting topic that I didn't know just because it looked interesting. In the future, I want to learn more about it!
